Ed Gard,
President of ESG Construction Services, LLC, has 30 years of experience in the construction
and development industry including single family, multifamily, time share,
hotel and assisted living communities. A
native of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science from Auburn
University, Ed is a Florida state certified and
licensed general contractor.
Ed began his career as an assistant
superintendent with Lincoln Property Company prior to graduating from Auburn.
He quickly advanced into the roles of project manager and senior project
manager with LPC and other national multifamily and single family developers
including Gables Residential, Regency Homes and Toll Brothers. Ed successfully managed the completion of
over 750 homes in upscale south Florida communities in Boca Raton, Weston,
Coral Springs, Cooper City, Coconut Creek and Pembroke Pines.
Over the past 13 years his
responsibilities have been focused on the development side of the industry. For
7 years he served as the Director of Development for an Orlando based
multifamily development and construction firm producing an annual volume of $45
million in construction and $75 million in developed communities. He was responsible for new site acquisition,
pre-development viability analysis as well as the direction and coordination of
architectural, civil engineering, geotechnical and environmental consultants
and all required zoning and site plan approvals and procurement of permit.
Ed served as the Development Manager
at Liberty Investment Properties for the development of Value Place hotels in
national markets including Alabama, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts,
Texas, Colorado, Utah Arizona and Florida.
His role with Liberty included full life cycle responsibilities from
pre-development/entitlements to construction and turn over to operations. He also created and implemented a warranty
and maintenance monitoring program for all properties.
After starting ESG Construction
Services, LLC, Ed has provided construction and development services for the
development and coordination of a 9 AC medical office complex in the Villages,
FL for the land owner and performed construction management services for
physician’s offices. ESG is currently
providing CEI (Construction Engineering Inspections) and construction
administrative consulting on behalf of Zev Cohen and Associates for a $4
million road project for the City of Ormond Beach, FL, which is scheduled for
completion ahead of schedule in October, 2013.
ESG will continue with CEI services for an 11 month project on John
Anderson in Ormond Beach, north of Granada Blvd. which includes utility
upgrades and road milling and resurfacing.
Also in the works for the second half of 2013 and 2014 is private development and construction of vacation homes throughout Volusia and Flagler Counties. ESG’s partnership with Hammock Cottages and Landmark Properties is focusing on beachside vacation cottages from 1400 to 2200 square feet with high end finishes, quality construction and ESG’s attention to detail.
